We’ve got a few new recruits joining our crew today, and I must say I’m a little skeptical as to their whaling potential. One in particular seems to have a lot to prove. He is allegedly called Ishmael, and repeatedly instructs us to do so as well. But the more he does this, the less inclined I am to believe this actually is his name. Furthermore, we already have a Captain named Ahab. It is very bad luck to have this many Biblical allusions on board one vessel. If we are not careful, we may find ourselves sailing headlong into an allegory. Alas, it is also bad luck to talk about bad luck, so I will need to keep these thoughts to myself for the time being.
